I was kind of wondering the same thing.

However, I can tell you that running a contest is a difficult and generally thankless task. I know this from the one I do

Invalid Item  This item number is not valid. #1992580 by Not Available.

Maintenance is a challenge, and almost no one seems to appreciate the effort or GPS expended. After all, this contest, like mine, has no entry fee.

That said, you're welcome to submit your story to the "Invalid Item"  provided it's 3000 words or less and uses third person limited. I've yet to miss a self-imposed deadline, although it's only been through three iterations.

Otherwise, I suggest forebearance. No one creates a contest except with the best of intentions, and real life can unexpectedly intervene.
