Hey Shelley,

you pose a lot of great questions, and I'm going to refer to them when I craft my essay. I think they'll help me to delve a bit deeper with the subject matter, and it gets me considering the various possibilities. One of the saddest things that occurred, and one thing that I actually did know about was the introduction of disease. It's so sad that the people were subjected to those diseases and some were even driven to suicide over it. All of the loss of life was such a waste and very unfair.
