I don't know, I've had varied experiences with both. A little while ago I got a same-day acceptance for a short story, and some publications (like Clarkesworld) average very fast with stories, even long stories. Calyx, who kept me waiting for almost a year, is a poetry journal.
Of my current subs, the ones that have sat the longest are a story at Ares Magazine at 200 days and a poem (one stinkin' poem!) at Cairn press that's at 140 days. Needless to say, I don't recommend submitting to either of these publications!
