“It won’t work,” shouted Vladimir. “The Americans have shut down those security holes. You’re one of the most wanted men in the world. The FBI’s closing in on you.” “You aren’t listening, you idiot,” snarled Demetri. “We don’t use old security holes, we create new ones.” “They’re watching everywhere for breaches! The Pentagon even has a cybersecurity program.” “You strike where they aren’t looking.” “Where?” “If you’d listened, you’d know. I have agents in the CIA, FBI, Pentagon, other branches of Uncle Sam too. I give them the programs, they use their access to penetrate the secure networks.” “Oh, gosh!” gasped Vladimir. “What’re you attacking?” “Finally, some sensible questions! As for what I’m attacking and when, I’m the most dangerous hackers in the world. If I shut down the CIA, the FBI, also Wall Street simultaneously, it’d be the worst cyber-terror attack in history.” Vladimir whistled. “You’re doing all that? Why?” “Revenge. They killed Igor, a much better man than you. And I’m trapped into action anyway.” “When’s it happening?” Demetri looked at Vladimir. “What about now? Everything’s ready.” He pulled out his iPhone. “I’ll alert Anna; she’s my central agent.” His fingers flew over the keypad. Vladimir was watching. “Dracula? That’s the password?” “Yes, Operation Dracula. I’m Transylvanian, and I’m wiping out who knows how many government networks, and the Wall Street virus will send stock markets in the chaos.” He thumbed the screen. “See the countdown? 10, 9, 8…” Vladimir joined, hesitantly. “7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…” they chanted. Suddenly the door was kicked down. Machine guns and troops stormed in. “Surrender!” shouted a burly soldier in front. “Too late,” smiled Demetri. “Operation Dracula begins!” He pulled out his own gun. “I’m going to go down fighting. My last stand!” He aimed and pulled the trigger.
