I read a couple of the Erickson novels and enjoyed them at first, but I got a little tired of the magical portal stuff. Am I thinking of the right series? He did rotten things to a couple of favored characters too, and I couldn't take the magic and the character reversals.

I'm a romantic I'm afraid. There are enough troubles to go around in real life so I require a happy ending from time to time.

Plus I'm excited to read something new by me. I'm almost as disappointing in that regard as George RR Martin.
