I give it 5 stars The Wolf Amber eyes glow in the light As the wolf stalked the night Fitfully howling at the moon Hoping to hear an answer soon Prowling the forest deep and wide Without his faithful mate beside. The hunter’s gun laid her on the ground For days he circled her around. Then leaving her to buzzard and crow He sought another in the forest below. Then one night in the light of the moon An answering howl sang his tune Slowly approaching the delicate smell The wolf knew soon all would be well Then the hunter’s gun roared again The wolf’s lifeless body lay in the rain. |
