I know that the bananas we eat today are way different from "natural" bananas, and that pretty much every banana we get is a clone of one particular banana tree, and because it's all from one genetic source it's highly susceptible to disease, and that one strain of banana has already disappeared due to a disease of that sort, and this cultivar is about to do the same.
