Diversity Makes the World Go Round

How much do you (the judges) know about bananas?

It's just, my entry is about the differences between bananas and people, and how people don't have the problems bananas do because of their diversity, but it probably makes more sense if you know a little about the history of bananas. My real question is how much can I assume you know? Going into a long explanation seems detrimental to enjoyment of the story, but then if you don't know what I'm talking about it's not going to have much effect.
