I am glad that you have decided to join despite being shy about your writing. Just remember, nobody is a "bad" or "good" writer - it is all subjective and everyone likes different things, different subjects and different styles of writing . I did English Lit for A-level (there was no option at that time and in my school to do English A level) I enjoyed it though, English was always my best subject, even when I was about four lol.

You will definitely find like minded people here - as well as a bunch of people who are probably quite different to you, but become great friends anyway

Just go ahead and post that first item in your portfolio - you will feel better when you do!
