Hi Michelle! Thank you, as always for your insightful comments ![]() I've decided to make Ev take a risk and send Tate off to destroy the stone (hoping that Garrett and Marek won't notice his absence and attack). It seems likely that the attack will have to begin but then Marek will have to leave to defend the stone (which he realizes is under attack). The armies are roughly evenly matched and the sorcerer is certainly only a tool, albeit a powerful one, that lends weight to the army's attack. He/they can be killed in all the normal ways and I don't feel like I've made them too powerful, but I'll go back and check that in my revisions. Now all I have to do is figure out how to destroy the stone, have Ev retake the castle (I like the thought about potentially rebuilding it) and then reunite them at the end. I suppose my characters will tell me what's going to happen. It seems they're in charge, despite my best efforts at outlining. Oddly enough, they've stuck to that relatively well though, they've just pointed out the holes in the plot that I missed.
