In addition to that, you can hint at some info Racey/Troy doesn't know about and it pops during the argument, and/or you can bring up stuff from their past or maybe Troy's past. Racey can state why Troy wants this as Racey knows or has found out about underlying reason. You can have Racey tell him proofs or speculations why Troy's actions will hurt their future or how Racey's family or friends will react to it.
Also, not all people argue on a reasonable line of thought, by sticking to the gist of the argument. If either one of them is slightly unreasonable, he or she may bring up past ills or relationship mistakes they've committed against each other.
