There are so many different ways to save what you've written. Those mentioned are probably the easiest. I think I go out of my way to make things difficult.
I write a lot of my novel while I'm not home. So I put a free writing program on my tablet. Werdsmith is the easiest to use for me. You don't have to save anything. I can close it and it saves it automatically. The free version has limited space, so I do one chapter at a time then copy and paste it in a book I created on WDC. I just delete the chapter off Werdsmith, knowing it's safe on WDC. No need to buy more space.
Later on I plan on copying the chapters to a word program on my computer, so it will be all together. Does that sound more difficult. That's me.
