Re: Showing vs. Telling
So glad to see someone else having this issue because I SUCK at the dialogue in my book right now, so I'm doing quite a bit of telling, despite showing normally being my strength. But I know if I stop and take the time to show it how I want, Ill be stuck on the first chapter come November 30th, trying to get it JUST right.

So as Dawn suggests just get the ideas out, and deal with the nasty editing later. No matter which way you do it, it's going to be a huge pain to edit, but at least later you'll be able to focus a bit better and have a better idea of what will work for "showing" in the places you "told" a bit too much... lol

I've never completed a novel either, but if there's any chance you're like me and a perfectionist when it comes to your writing, don't bother if you're not feeling it, because then you'll waste time "showing" something you'll end up changing anyway because you WEREN'T feeling it. Pass it by and move on pushing your story forward. When inspiration hits, then go back and play with it. *Smile*

Don't stress yourself out over the details, there's plenty of time for that later *Wink*
