I had to negotiate a compromise with my evil twin the inner editor. He can only come out for a one-time rewrite of any copy I generate during a word sprint. Once done, no looking back.

Yes, it's still durned hard to do that. As a writer and as an engineer I have an anal-retentive streak that is apparent in absolutely no other part of my messy, disorganized life.
