Consistency?
I'm writing a fantasy piece and I didn't want to lock the story into any specific time period or location. However, as I write, there is a medieval current to the settings (huts, villages, castle, horses, wagons, crude weaponry, etc.). My dialog is more modern. Would this throw you off as a reader?

As a writer how would you solve for consistency? My initial thoughts are: 1. I need to do more research on syntax/language for that time period and re-write my dialog. 2. I need to do more world building to undate my details.
