Hi there, and welcome to WDC!
There are groups on WDC that run the type of mentoring program you mention, but rather than applying to become a 'mentee' they select their candidates from amongst black cases who are a) demonstrating potential with the items in their portfolio, b) reviewing other members' work here on WDC and c) interact within the WDC community. So my suggestion would be to focus on those three things, and you might just find what you're looking for. If not, you'll definitely improve as you go along anyway, and probably make friends too. *Smile*
