Hello there. I'm new, duh. Feel free to just call me Prairie. I'm 20 years old and a college student in a small town. I'm studying Psychology, but I've always had an interest in writing. I've written for as long as I can remember. I remember my older sister starting me on it. She'd always write stories that mimicked the scary short stories she like to read. I tried to do the same at 5 or 6. Obviously, those pieces weren't quite masterpieces, but they were a start. It wasn't until middle school that my writing really blossomed. I wrote stories that included all of my friends. Whether we were in the future on a battle ship or through a portal to another world. Again, not quite masterpieces but definitely the tiny fire that would become my passion. Stories are generally what I write. And since I've always had a terrible issue with figuring out how to end stories, they are never short. I've never really been a good at poetry or other forms of writing. Frankly, I haven't given them much of a shot, so I can't be too certain. Anywho, I've decided to get a bit more serious with my writing and actually try and finish a book. Most of my stories never really end, so it's quite the challenge for me to figure out a beginning, middle and end of my pieces. Not too long ago, I hit a road block and went looking for help. I don't really have any friends who are writers. I somehow found this site, so I joined. This site is so busy! I have no idea what I'm doing! So I started here, with an introduction. I'm hoping I can get some guidance. |
