Josh... give your main character a pick axe at the end, just for us ;) Josh, I can go along with your plight. When I came back to the UK, I couldn't get a thing work wise. I then changed country and started my own business (As well as I could with a working capital of £0) and it all went pear shaped after the folks on the island decided I wasn't wicker man enough and need a work permit AND a permit to open a business as a foreigner. Although, let me point this out, I'm not foreign here. The Island just likes to be separate, there is no them and us, we have the same passport and everything! When they asked me for papers, I had every benefit stopped and was left on my ass for 9 months without any kind of income and not being allowed any income. Luckily, whenever I wanted to get out of here, my girlfriend told me to stay and fight through it... somehow. I haven't starved yet. While I was in Liverpool last week, finally after two years, I got all my paperwork through. All the tax that was taken from my income of £0.... yes they still taxed me...(Vee Liverpool folks have ways of making things happen so we can pay this shite) is coming back. So this time I will have a decent Working capital to get me going... and it is all legit for a change. Strange for me that. Anyway, moral of the story... chin up... sod all else we can do eh. Three years altogether it's took me to get going and no-one has told me it won't go ass up yet. Still a chance that this time next year I'll be in a worse state than now. Just got to keep going and going. Sooner or later it's got to work out. It just has too. At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky, and the sweet, silver song of a lark. |
