"Theres that one breakfast place over by Liesel" "I'm not sure of that place, but you can direct me, right?" James said. He squeezed her hand a little as they moved down the stairs and toward the exit. Rana smiled. "I can....Daddy and I would go every Sunday." "Perfect, it's not Sunday, but you can pretend right?" James said. They moved outside and to the overhang where he paused. "Oh great, it's raining." "I can pretend," she said quietly. She blinked at the rain. She suddenly had this image of kissing in the rain. James turned to look at her and saw she had a somewhat faraway look in her eyes. "Rana, are you alright?" he asked. Rana looked dreamy, imagining him twirling her around and then holding her close, kissing her. "Rana?" James asked again. He smiled a little because her expression wasn't scared. "I'll get the car, stay here alright?" He let go of her hand and dug in his pocket for his keys. Rana gazed at him, dazed almost. She stepped close and put her arms around him, hugging him. She leaned up and kissed his cheek. "let me come with you." James looked at her quizzically. "If you want to, but you'll get wet." His hands had gone to her waist automatically when she hugged him and he wasn't in any hurry to let go. Oh how he wanted to kiss her then. His heartbeat picked up speed inside his chest as he thought what it would feel like to have her lips touch his. "I don't mind," she whispered. She truly wished for him to kiss her. James drew in a shaky breath and licked his lips. He forced himself to let go of her waist then cleared his throat. "Okay, um ready?" Rana squealed as they ran for the car, having a ball. James stopped short as they reached the car and turned to see her huge smile. He lifted her by her waist and twirled her around, loving her laughter. Rana laughed. She gazed into his eyes, her heart pounding. James suddenly understood how Beast felt when Belle gave him that look. He lowered her down, his lips pressing to hers. Rana was taken by surprise. Slowly she kissed back, heart soaring. James set her fully on her feet, his lips still against hers. His arms went around her holding her protectively. Rana closed her eyes, her arms going around his neck. James lifted his hands cupping her face then slowly pulled away. "I can't do this," he said in a soft voice. "It's wrong." "What? Why? Neither of us are in a relationship." James turned unlocking her door. "Rana, you are in mourning." He opened the door and looked at her expectantly. "I didn't push you away did I?" "No, love," James said gently. "You were...are perfect. It's just that I can't take advantage." "You're not. Don't you like me?" James looked into her eyes as he helped her into the car. "I like you very much, Rani." His eyes said he truly cared for her and felt pain in holding back. Rana wiped her eyes. "And I like you." James made sure she was comfortable then kissed the tip of her nose. "When you aren't mourning. I will wait for you." "Well then I have to stop mourning quickly." James gave a little laugh. "Rana, you are so wonderful." He was leaning inside the car with his face close to hers and gave her one more quick kiss on the lips. "To tide us over." Rana smiled at the kiss. "You are, James." |
