I agree with everything Crys and Ember Rain said.

I forget which author said he called his agent in the middle of every novel about this book he should be writing and the horridness of his current project. I feel similarly right now, but I am powering through it.

"You can't edit a blank page." Is one of my favorite quotes and a reminder to me that I have to get it out before I can fix it.

I do think you have two choices. Either continue on with that outline you prepared, or fly in the direction your characters want to take you with notes about what might need to be added in earlier parts to make it believable. Either way, I hope you hang in there and write it out!
