Stalled? We are ready to help you brainstorm your way past your hurdle. |
First, let me say I am about to upset you. I am going to upset you because I am not going to read the story you linked in. I don't have to. Your right it has plot holes. Your right its a sloppy mess. Your not writing web content sweetie. Your writing a novel. The first draft is always a sloppy mess. Heck I am writing the same story I wrote last year again and guess what It has plot holes. Its a sloppy mess. Its suppose to be. You are letting your inner editor prod you into doing something else because hes tired of being tied up. You apparently forgot to gag him. You have to remember to gag him and plant an Iron Maiden right beside him to threaten him with if he even thinks about trying to poke you with his foot. :) You can do this. If I can do this, you can do this. Look at it this way. We all write crap. We all have stories that start out seeming like they have so much potential that end up in the recycle bin on our desk tops. Each of us has thrown away a lot of hard work. So what do we get out of it? One bad story out of the way of a dozen good ones. Don't give up just because it seems bad now. Give it till January and then it will really seem bad I promise. LOL The point my dear is whether it is good or bad it is your story to tell right now. Not everything needs to have a monetary value. Sometimes, they just need to be released to the universe so that it clears the cobwebs out of your head. Keep going treat it like a good house cleaning you don't want to do but know you need to. Then go back and look at it in January. Who knows, come January you might find something in it salvageable enough to make it worth while going back. No novel, I don't care who you are, is ever good when it is first written. Even the greatest writers have to go back and do at least one if not 30 rewrites. It's just the nature of the beast when writing things this long. Your going to miss stuff. Make notes of what you missed. when you realized you missed it. It helps me. Make a note then forget about it until January. Then go fix it. I have a scene where I sent two characters off with two other characters then included them in a party scene without every saying they came back. You know why I didn't say it? Because they didn't do it. LOL I forgot I had sent them somewhere else. I made a note of it and moved on. If you need me to tell you to shut up and write again let me know. You can always email me. I'm pretty much always around. *Hands you gag for your inner editor and walks away* ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** "Invalid Item" ![]() ![]() "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group" ![]() ![]() "Invalid Item" ![]() ![]() Check out my Rising Stars Bookiemonster ![]() ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
