Here we are, just under halfway to the NaNoWriMo finish line, and I thought it was high time we see how this competition is shaping up. Keep in mind that this is just a progress report and that every team is still eligible for the win. If your particular team is running a little behind, all you have to do is crank out some more words and encourage your teammates to do the same!  Here is how the competition is shaping up at the moment: The Purple Team is currently in the lead with 189,078 words written! But the Red Team is nipping at their heels with 181,822 words. Rounding out the Top 3 is the White Team with 154,768 words. And the rest of the teams, as they currently stand: Gold Team - 135,600 words Black Team - 117,590 words Silver Team - 100,866 words Blue Team - 88,609 words Brown Team - 85,119 words Orange Team - 69,677 words Green Team - 67,789 words Yellow Team - 60.669 words Pink Team - 59,850 words Some other quick stats for you:  6 of our competing writers have already crossed the 50,000-word mark! ember_rain currently has the highest word count with 62,026 words written! aszreal is right behind her with 61,734 words written! Lonewolf  has completed NaNo with more words written than the rest of his team combined! 7 writers have yet to enter a word count in their NanoCounter and thus earned a "0" for the purposes of tallying the above rankings. This activity's current aggregate raw word count is 1,148,938 words, which puts the 65 writers in this activity ahead of the writing efforts of the city of Orlando, the entirety of Utah County, and all of the District of Columbia!Again, please keep in mind that this is just a progress report and only meant to give you an idea of where the participants in this activity currently stand. Please do not get discouraged if your team is lagging a little behind; there have been plenty of come-from-behind teams who ended up placing much, much higher in the final days of the activity. There's still plenty of time to get plenty of words written, and to motivate your fellow teammates to finish. The next update will be sent just before the final week of the competition.
