A nano place to chat about NanoWrimo... |
*chimes in quickly* I do have my novel on WDC because it's one of my ways of backing up in case something happens with my computer or whatever program I'm using (this year it's scrivener). However, whether you make it viewable is a personal choice. Almost all of my novels on WDC are private. I have a couple that have passkeys but I'm not looking for feedback from random persons. But on a couple that I have sent links to friends, I did the passkey by putting a number in the little box and having the item private. You have to send a link for people to find it but once they click the link the passkey should work. However, I do have one nanowrimo novel that I have had viewable. My first year I won nanowrimo on a romance/erotica novel I didn't really think about the private issue and stuff on WDC. So, my novel was public. And someone read it. Someone I did not know and they didn't just read a couple of chapters. I mean, they read the whole thing... before I had finished it. They helped me make a decision about the last chapter in fact. It was actually kind of nice because they were very encouraging even though that novel is a bit of a mess of a draft. So, sometimes having it viewable can work. But it's up to you what you want to do. |
