I was thinking about jumping through those hoops to get a post or entry linked but why? If it can be done for an overall item then it should be doable for it's sub-components. After all those sub-components are related to the parent in the database they are stored in. All that would need done is a tag like rentry or epost that tells the system to link the entry or post and tells it to get the rating info from it's parent. Simple.
