Yes, I (Coffeebean) presented David with three options. #1 … Ignore the review. #2 … Send a thank you. #3 … Respond to the reviewer in a negative manner. I stand by my conviction that we have the prerogative to ignore reviews, whether good or bad, and delete them from our inbox at will. I don’t endorse this action, but as far as my limited knowledge leads me to believe … we, as authors on the WDC site, still have that freedom of choice. I did not ignore the professional option. “Send a polite thank you.” Now, if the reviewed author chooses to stick pens in a corn husk doll made in the reviewer’s image after sending the thank you note … is also their freedom of choice. I certainly don’t condone getting into a verbal war with the giver of bad reviews. I am positive that I made that perfectly clear in my original post. In fact … I said, “I wouldn’t recommend doing that.” I try to give credit where credit is due and trust that anyone reading anything I have to say ... will capitalize on their own advantageous judgment, and do what they deem as acceptable. |
