My problem with the kind of bad “review” I got and a few others have listed here is the academic and literary intellectual who treats what we write as low brow commercial fiction with no relevance to “true” writing. That’s why I choose to block the fool I already keep enough of those Ivory Tower adversaries on close watch and don’t need one who likes to harass writers who have a human or humanoid creature killing a stupid fictional dragon irritating me. Quite frankly if “reviewers” like them were blocked by the preponderance of their targets they would be left to write their scramblings where we will not have to be assaulted by individuals who won’t be happy until we write like them and give up since that isn’t us. Thankfully we will always disappoint these sadists. Fortunately as with the real world we out number them and I have received mostly good or decent reviews with one or two on the side that were slightly confusing. Right now I’m debating whether or not to take his “reviews” and create a “How Not to Write a Venomous” article pointing out as the author of the story he reviewed the boiled down point of the story that which he seemed to ignore or create his own interpretation of the seen, of course I won’t use the same snideness he used I’d just be stooping to his level. If anyone has an opinion on that idea I would appreciate it. David |
