Fountain of Knowledge

Tanners, coopers, glass blowers, undertakers, barbers (some with leeches), brickmasons, spinners & weavers (who were being quickly put out of business by the industrial revolution), milliners (hatmakers), tinkers, salesmen who went from town to town by horse, charcoal burners, gardeners & gamekeepers (on big estates), shoemakers, women who took in laundry & ironing, tutors & governesses. There were also unmarried men who wandered from place to place doing odd jobs according to the season--haymaking, harvesting, planting, etc.

One way to think of more would be to look at a list of English surnames, since a lot of them refer to traditional occupations.
