Say Cheese!

He tells me they’re not smart enough
to notice what he does.
He says they blame it all on me
because of who I was –
“A no-good, tail-pursuing mutt”
Bought from the local pound,
Unlike his feline lineage,
My parents can’t be found.
But here’s the thing he doesn’t know –
our owners have installed
Some cam’ras; once they see the tapes
I’m sure they’ll be appalled.
So though I bore the blame so far –
they always took his side,
I’m certain once the film’s replayed,
The truth won’t be denied.
