Hello everyone. I'm glad to be a part of this group and I look forward to getting to know you all better.
I was just recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I am still in the denial stage because there isn't any tremors present, although my gait and balance are affected which results in falls. Also, I have ridigity on my right side and I don't swing my right arm when walking. This is something that was pointed out to me. I never realized that before.
I have suffered with depression for years, and consequently since I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, my depression has worsened.
Besides the fact of trying to cope with the disease one of the reasons for this is the medications that I have been given. They just add to the problem. I’m still experimenting with the various types that my neurologist prescribes; need to find the right one which works best for me.
Sorry for babbling on like this, but I always get all "worked up" after a doctors visit.
