Great point, Bane! You know, I think a lot of people here place too much emphasis on criticism. Not that there is anything wrong with giving constructive advice. I crave it, but it's almost like people here feel like they aren't being helpful unless they can find SOMETHING to point out or address. That's bull. Before I joined WDC, I was able to read something for the sheer joy of it. I wasn't thinking of how to reword a sentence or nitpicking every little aspect of a story. I think people tend to forget that the average reader is not a writer....they don't psychoanalyize every little word or action, nor do they want to! Most people read just to lose themselves in a story. It's us writers who nitpick and critique every little word. We're trained to. After all, for us it's a dog eat dog world and competition is tough!
