What's a Bazinga, Nat? @Voodooo-- Quote: But to know that the person who wrote said review is attempting to tear down others in the name of some useless vendetta and then hide behind a disability is unnerving. How do you know she is attempting to tear down others because of a vendetta and didn't just give her honest opinion of the work? And that informing others of her disability isn't just her way of explaining her mistakes? I know how long it takes to give an in-depth review without a learning disability and I can tell you if I had dyslexia I sure as hell wouldn't go back over every review for mistakes. She didn't request a review of her review after all. I know how irritating and insensitive some people can be and I hate arrogance as much if not more than the next person, but I still feel that Alice is being bashed unfairly. Her reviews should be judged based on the merit of their usefulness not the tone or the manner in which they are presented. I thought the most important purpose of a review was to help us improve the piece and our writing not placate our insecurities or encourage us to continue. If someone is so crushed by a review that they cease to write anymore or give up on their dreams then I have to wonder if they were meant to be a writer in the first place. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
