Noticing Newbies

Hi all,

Good morning/afternoon/evening/past-your-bedtime-but-you're-full-of-coffee-and-inspiration to you all, wherever you are in the world.

My name is Jason, I'm a newbie here, and I'll shortly be posting my first story up on here for criticisms and witticisms.

I'm a sci-fi author by trade, although perhaps more of a grounded, human-centered story-teller than a space opera peddler.

I used to write shed loads when I was a teenager, but somehow lost the bug after years of work, beer, neglect, girls and children. I took part in NaNoWriMo in November, successfully I might add, and once again have that spark of fire in my belly.

30 years old and based in Norwich, England.

The story I'm about to post will be the first short story I've written in about three years, so I'm a bit nervous - be nice!
