Hi everyone. I'm JMariah

Hello All,
I'm new to WDC and brand new to I.N.K.E.D. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group.

My first name is Joan, but (prefering my middle name) I go by JMariah. I've been writing for over 40 years. The first poem I ever had published was in Spear Magazine back when I was 9 years old. I'm in my early 50's; I have 2 children; 1 grandchild and another on the way.

I love poetry, and I am most passionate about well-written rhyme. I tend to have favourite poems rather than favourite poets (and even these change depending my mood). But if I were to choose favourite poets, they would be Edgar A Guest, Robert Service and Dorothy Parker.

What I hope to gain by being active in this group and at this site, is to sharpen my writing and critiquing skills. I hope to discover my writing voice and challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone with my writing. I hope to make some friends, and in the process, have fun!
