Yes, oh yes oh yes oh yes. THAT happens to me.

I use reverse psychology on myself. I say, "you don't want to finish it? Then I won't let you." Akin to suspending a kid from school for cutting school.

I usually keep a story open on my computer. If I stall, I close it. Like putting a treat out of sight of a dog but where he/she can still scent it. (I'm part dog).

Having multiple stories going is a GREAT help because they are usually in diff. degrees of completion. I simply bounce back and forth between them. It helps the stories ferment, that is, settle and when I get back to them I always have a renewed energy. It's like seeing friends again after a hiatus.

Another tactic is to read more. Then I end up thinking about MY story. Often reading gives me a line, dialog or concept that I can morph and transplant to my story.

Finally, since I consider the characters friends, I want to help and serve them, to get their personalilties across and allow them to arrive at their destinations. When I tried to just push thru with two stories, reviewers here said the stories didn't end, rather they stopped.
