Noticing Newbies

Hello! I'm new here to writing.com. I found it while browsing the internet for writing tips and prompts.
A little about myself. Well, I'm a college graduate and I teach adult literacy. I love introducing people to the world of books. Watching them read a whole page for the first time and seeing their faces light up is the greatest.
I love writing and telling stories in general. My parents always used to tell me that when I was a little kid I would sit down and tell story after story. Then, I moved on to writing them down on my mom's old school typewriter. When we bought our first computer I was thrilled.
I've gotten poetry published and now I am working on a novel. It is so much harder. I hope that here at writing.com I can get some feedback on my writing. I hope to read the stories of other fellow writers and help them out.
