I agree, Wen - sometimes when you know the ending it's really a lot of fun "filling in the blanks". For me, when I work backwards, or at least start with the end, it seems to take a lot less revising, at least where the plot itself is concerned. And, yes, sometimes that involves plotting the demise of a character or two. lol. Ah well. At least if you know they must go before the end of the book you can be prepared to not be too attached to those few people.
