No those items won't even still be in your port if it expires. Luckly there are several groups on WDC that help with that. You can earn enough gift points by entering contests and doing reviews expecially for "Anniversary Reviews" Open in new Window. to pay for your membership yourself. But, if you can't Groups like WCMTH Upgrade Assistance will add enough gift points to what you already have so you can keep your upgrade. There are several other groups that do that as well.

Keep your chin up. I haven't lost my upgraded status yet. Though I will admit to buying 100,000gps to supplement the gift points I already had. But, I didn't know about WCMTH upgrade assistance at the time.
