1. Was is it difficult to complete the above assignment (part two) without ‘explaining’ or telling the situation?

Yes, and I think I have added too much in the line of descriptive details. But I think I have been able to further push myself into alternative, more experiential ways to describe my surroundings.

2. Did the exercise trigger your imagination, make you want to write about any of the characters you reported on?

It did trigger my imagination, but not in terms of the characters I wrote about. It made me more aware of the ways we use descriptive words, and made me think outside of just sight and sound.

3. Which of the 5 senses focused on in this lesson did you find easiest to use in your Part one of the assignment? Which is the toughest to add in a story?

I thing the easiest would be sight, where as the hardest is would be taste. I think this is reflective of the way the body uses the senses. Biologically, sight and hearing are our strongest senses, whereas taste is a weak side effect of the sense of smell.

4. Take a moment and look at a few of your pieces in your portfolio. Now that you've conditioned your mind to focus on sensory details, do you see any areas in your work where you might apply what you've learned in this lesson? Explain why or why not.

As someone who is primarily a poet, I think there are many places within my portfolio, both on line and on paper, where I could use the an enhancement of the senses to add depth and power to my writing. I also think that this skill will come in very handy as I try to do more with short stories, and hopefully build to longer pieces.
