There is no way that we write anything without interpreting and commenting on it as we write. If we break it down to its simplest terms we are saying that is it and no more. If we comment on the attitude of the person we are observing, then yes, we are recording it as we saw it. That is the nature of our camera/recorder. Nothing is processed without going through our brain. The camera records light but when we look at a picture we process it through our thoughts and experiences, adding that to what we see in the picture. The tape recorder captures sound waves electronically. When we play it back, what we hear is measured against things we have heard in the past.
I like the sensory camera exercise and plan to use it whenever I get the chance, but when I turn my camera on, I want it to record what I see/hear/touch/feel/taste, and write what my brain thinks about it.
Oh, did I mention, I also want to write something that someone else would like to read.
