That's what I think too. It's not just about a being in a profession and being able to write about things that profession brought you closer to. Being observant, even if we are in a profession that has nothing to do with the sense of smell or taste, we can write about it. For me, the key is observation, because I believe stories are somewhat reflections of what we come across in day to day life...at least in most cases it is so.
