I've never heard of chic-lit... your comments about how you enjoy writing in this genre are interesting. I may have to look that up! I once read an interesting blurb about cliches, and how a writer should consider using them once in awhile because cliches are what make things really humanistic to others. They shouldn't be overused, of course, but in moderation can really bring things together. This made me really reconsider cliches, so now when I review I consider the context.
