Hi there :)
Hi everyone! Excited to be joining the wdc community and to hopefully get to know a lot of you! My coffeehouse answers are below.

I'm joining to share chapters of a ~600 page novel that I began writing at the age of 12 (eight years ago). Till now, I've only shared it with close friends and family, and I'd love to share it with a broader forum so that it doesn't fade away unremembered. As of now, I am no longer working on this novel, but it still holds a cherished place in my heart.

If you'd be interested in reading an epic/sci-fi novel taking place in an otherworld-esque imagining of Earth's distant future, in which an empire of darkness has engulfed the globe (save for a pinprick of hope on a lone golden isle), chronicling the adventures of the heir to the world's throne, his illustrious companions and iniquitous enemies, I'd love for you to stop by my portfolio and take a look :) If I find an interested readership, I may just slip back into my teenage mind to give this story its long overdue ending...

         nope... still in college :)

          google

Writing Questions
Who are your favorite authors?
I've always had trouble answering this question... there are countless authors whose books I like a lot, and many whose books I love. But none yet stand out at the forefront of my mind as definite favorites.
What type of writing is your passion?
Fiction! Novels in particular! Epic novels in particular! Though not officially acknowledged as a genre, I feel like many would have an intuitive sense of what that means...
What genres are you interested in writing? (Or reading?)
          See above.
What do you hope most to gain by being an active member on this site?
I hope to make writing a more active part of my life once again. I used to spend hours a day wrapped up in my writing, but it has been difficult to make time for it these past few years in the midst of life at Harvard - so I hope that being engaged in a community like this will help me to give my passion the time and attention that it deserves.
What's one thing about this site that you like so far?
         Everyone seems so friendly *Smile*
What are some things you feel other members may be able to help you with?
Over the past several hours since I've joined wdc, people have already been very helpful with navigating and making the most of the site! I hope to also gain a readership who can give me feedback on my novel.
If you could give one piece of writing advice, what would it be?
Write in such a way that your passion for writing truly shines through. Make this passion tangible to the reader, whether via the delicate twists of your plot, the dimensionality of your characters, the expressive elegance of your language, or whatever else you feel enables you to mark yourself as someone who lives and breathes the written word :)
What's the best piece of writing advice you've ever received?
Never let style distract or detract from content.
What is your favorite quote? By who?
Ahhhhh I don't know. I'm so horrible at picking favorites.

Goofy or 'Just For Fun' Questions
What's your favorite color?
          Deep cerise or bright teal.
If you had only 24 hours to live, what would you do?
I'd live the most love-filled, laughter-filled day of my life and make sure to leave a few hours at the end to write about it :)
If the whole world were listening, what would you say?
I just want to be loved. Deeply, vehemently, boundlessly (and, you know, in a way that satisfies my romantic sensibilities...). There is honestly no better feeling and I have definitely not had enough of it. I think my input/output ratio of this kind of love is something like 1:10000000000. Unless there are some secret admirers out there who have kept their passions very contained indeed!
If there was one thing you could do in your life you can't right now, for whatever reason, what would it be and why?
Watch my bestselling novel come to life on the silver screen. One of my biggest dreams in life.
If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be and who is it by?
Right now, I'm feeling "Sweet Disposition" by the Temper Trap.
If you could spend $10,000 dollars on anything you wanted, what would you do with it?
Put it toward the budget for the international blockbuster mentioned two questions above! Or perhaps I'd spend it on Pinkberry frozen yogurt.....
