Hello
by Jim Author IconMail Icon
Hello all, fixed my computer (Yes, I fixed it), and it's good to be back. *Smile*

What would you like us to call you? Sum1 is fine, because that's who I am, someone who found kind of late in life (okay, in my forties) that I love to write. Jim is my name, but I am known to answer to just about anything.

Are you female or male? (Sometimes we get mixed up with text!) Male

How old are you? (Ballpark?) Mid Fifties now

Do you have a spouse? Siblings? Children? Spouse (separated for 10 yrs, don't ask, it's a story that I don't understand either, lol)

How did you find Writing.Com? I used to play games on a website called Pogo. I sent my poems to friends when I wrote them. One of them was a member here, but never pursued much, but sent me a link to it.

How did you find "I.N.K.E.D." ? I am honored to have been asked to join, and proud to be a member.

Writing Questions
Who are your favorite authors? Stephen King, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Clive Cussler, Andre Norton, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Arthur C. Clarke, John Wyndham, John Grisham

What type of writing is your passion? Poetry. Have always written in rhyming quatrains. Completely self trained, never had a writing class, and English was my worst subject in school, (go figure), am learning new forms of poetry as I enter contests here on WDC

What genres are you interested in writing? (Or reading?) Mysteries, Poetry, Fiction, Science Fiction,

What do you hope most to gain by being an active member on this site? Help others become better writers, learn to be a better writer myself.

What's one thing about this site that you like so far? The reviews!

What are some things you feel other members may be able to help you with? English. I can't find a verb, adverb, or adjective if I try, so I'm happy to learn of errors in my writing, and keep them from occurring again.

If you could give one piece of writing advice, what would it be? Let your mind go, be free, relax, and let the words come to you

What's the best piece of writing advice you've ever received? Join WDC, and I mean that, I have learned so much in the ten months I've been a member.

What is your favorite quote? By who? Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life - Confucius

Goofy or 'Just For Fun' Questions

What's your favorite color? I lean toward pastels. Blue, purple now, turquoise

If you had only 24 hours to live, what would you do? Find a cure so I could live more than 24 hours

If the whole world were listening, what would you say? (We're not the whole world, but we're listening!) Don't be afraid to write what you feel.

If there was one thing you could do in your life you can't right now, for whatever reason, what would it be and why? Work with under-privileged/homeless and help them become self sufficient.

If one song were to describe your life, what song would it be and who is it by? Let it Be, of course, by The Beatles. I'm not all that religious, but I do feel his presence some.

If you could spend $10,000 dollars on anything you wanted, what would you do with it? Help a couple of friends of mine who are in need.

I know this all sounds so corny, but every word is true. I'm just me, I'm happy being me, what more can I say?
