“Ahh, these messages under the stone so often confuse me, but then I think, and thinking can be a good thing!” Claudia laughs.

“What would I do if if was invited to share a meal with Jesus? Why, I would eat and most heartily! I have had little appetite while on this journey but today I have a hunger that I feel could not be quenched by my eating a camel! (Claudia looks towards Rufus, whose head and ears immediately perked up and looked at her, as if he thought she intended to eat him.) Yes, friends, I would eat and sit and listen and enjoy his presence.”

Claudia pauses as her companions chuckle at the look on Rufus’ face, looks down at her hands and continues speaking in a more quiet and serious manner.

“As far as what would I ask my Lord there are a few things. “

Her companions become more alert as they hear Claudia call Jesus, “her Lord”. They look at each other and wait to here what she has to say.

Claudia smiles gently and says, “Yes, my friends, He is my Lord now. Yesterday, after Jesus spoke to me, I prayed in my own fumbling way and asked Jehovah for his forgiveness and thanked him for his love for me. I too, now, believe I am a well-loved child of God and want to follow Jesus and live a holy life.”

The most important question, the most practical question I would ask him is this: Must I now become a Jew to please him and be holy? Secondly, must I be baptized again. And thirdly, how am I to go back to the palace and share my joy at Jesus’ healing of my spirit and the truth of who he is and what he offers to all who will listen, when I know that if I speak out, it will only bring much more condemnation and violence down upon him and his followers, those I have learned to love with my whole heart?”

“I would only ask that Jesus strengthen me somehow and give me wisdom to know how to be brave, be free and open in sharing, just as Antonius was, shouting to the rooftops his joy at loving Jesus and wanting to serve him."

"And as far as what kind of meal would I serve Jesus, well, I am no Martha (Claudia looks towards Martha and winks) but I believe a nice roasted haunch of lamb with rosemary and some delicious fruit soaked in honey would be quite tasty!”
