Amos--Antonius, I mean--I like your thoughts on this peace that the Messiah can bring us. I felt that sort of peace when I was with John, before his arrest, and I felt it when Jesus was preaching to us. Perhaps it is from that peace that I am not afraid of the dangers of following Jesus. (Although I admit that I'm strong-minded enough that I wasn't much afraid before, anyway.) But I have felt a change within me since we began this journey. I am just as outspoken as ever, it is true, but I am learning to turn the other cheek--with the help of that camel--and I am not afraid for myself. I am nervous for Jesus, because there are many who wish him dead, but I cannot worry too much, even if he and I both must die for the cause of truth.
Martha, here are some fish I have caught and cleaned. Would you like to fix them for dinner? I can help you cook them, if you would like.
