That is how a buy a good pair of shoes, its practicality, not style; if it was for style then there would be no competitive shoe business.

I rate a good pair of shoes on how comfortable they are. If they don't make me stumble or rub me raw they get a 5. (stumbling and rubbing raw applies to writing too.)

The last part of the last line isn't true. Competition in the shoe business is entirely style driven. Who is this person? Practicality is the last thing young people (especially) think about.
