An interesting argument -- but I think it's validity depends on having chosen the item from something like a site search (ie., a reader on a shopping spree), not from something like the review request page (looking for customers for one's service business).....which could mean that a piece in dire need of editing would score more stars than a piece that doesn't need much change.......or that anything that doesn't require any thinking on the reviewer's part scores higher because the reviewer is just doing it for the gps and rewards.
This article kind of binds my free thinking. I already come a page with my own idiosyncrasies. I want to rate an article on how well it suits my present need, rather than if I think the writer was a good overall, that I cannot judge. That is how a buy a good pair of shoes, its practicality, not style; if it was for style then there would be no competitive shoe business.
