You saw Him in the wilderness? You say He was emaciated with hunger and thirst and then someone else came along and tempted Him to do evil. Ole Cornbread Face you called him. You must have some personal acquaintance with him to give him such a title. But I digress, as I consider your words and the implication they have on me personally. I must reiterate again that I love the LORD God Jehovah. I know what you speak about from the Torah that we are to eat the bread of God, and not just the bread of man. Father told me that when we put God's Word in our hearts as instructed in the psalms, then we will have it at our disposal when the enemy comes in and tries to tempt us to do evil. Yeah, he usually reminded me of that after one of my rebellious episodes, like that time I went to the school to watch the boys. Father backed up mother's discipline that day, and told me I needed to meditate on the scriptures so I wouldn't fall under such temptation again. I won't say I wasn't tempted, after all, if you know anything about boys, (laughs) oh yeah, you are one. Then you know what it is like to be young and seeing them in a whole new light, and John was a handsome boy. I wished he would take notice of me, but he only had eyes for his studies. It was on the occasion I was there that I noticed he asked a lot of questions. When the schoolmaster looked up to answer one of John's question that was when he saw me standing there, the schoolmaster that is, John didn't know I was there until the master rushed out and sent me home to mother, and well, you know the rest. So this is the temptation Ole Stupid as you called him gave Jesus, and Jesus didn't give in. He has more perseverance than I ever would or could have. I can't imagine going without sustenance for more than a few hours. In fact the light meals we partake here is less than I typically ate, and though I am hungry, I am not overly so. It is like my body is adjusting to this new diet of eating only when we can afford to, and carrying dates and figs to see us through until it is safe to build a fire. You also said Jesus didn't have anything to drink. I know Moses didn't have anything to eat or drink in the Mountain with God, but I just figured God supernaturally took care of him so he wouldn't feel any hunger and thirst while God gave him the law. Wouldn't it be the same with Jesus, since He is the Son of God as Satan declared when he came to tempt Jesus. Wouldn't the fact He is the Messiah keep Him supernaturally quenched without a need for food and water? (Shaking head) You did say He was just like us, a belly-button kid, so then He wouldn't have been supernaturally taken care of by His Father, would He have? And Satan knew it and used it against Him just like he does when he tempts us to sin. You gave me a lot to think about, and assimilate. Jesus, the Son of God, just like we are, no different. I can face tomorrow because God is in my life today. Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
