Amos,

Do you recall John saying he would decrease and Jesus would increase? I believe this introduction to Jesus verifies the prophesy is fulfilled that the Messiah has come. (Sees double doubt in Amos' eyes)

Stay with me and just listen...The law requires beore one may preach he must be at least 30 and the 40 day fast is also significant in the teachings of he old laws. My heart tells me Jesus is the Son of God...the scriptures tell that the Messiah will be born of a virgin...Stop rolling your eyes Amos! That means Jesus has come to us as a human also. So I may not understand it all yet. But I know he IS The Son of God as well as son of man. My heart tells me he is showing his personal committement to God in the desert. The note says he is tempted. Art not we? Perhaps, he is only showing us how to use the Word as protection against temptation. When he returns to us (Close your mouth) He WILL return to us. It will be time for him to increase as John said. He will be ready. I am not sure I understand all I just said but I know it to be true!

He just as we have to allow God's word to overide our physical desires.
