Well put, Alexander. I am familiar with the Jews ancient story of Job. Perhaps you are correct in assuming this Jesus has gone into the desert where he will be tempted by these devils. But if you recall the outcome of the story of Job, though stricken with all manner of trials and grief, he did not despair nor curse or abandon his God. The devil failed with him. If this god allows trials to befall his people, perhaps it is to test their loyalty toward him. Perhaps Jesus, who has now been deemed the son of this god, is being tested, being prepared for something to come. I take no stock in these people's myths, but I do know that Roman soldiers prepare for battle by fasting and praying to Mars, their god of war. Perhaps this Jesus is preparing for battle, according to his beliefs. I wonder, shall he emerge from the wilderness and slay these corrupt priests or even the king?
